An overview of this program’s objectives and how you can benefit

Morgan Stanley's five to ten-week Sales & Trading Summer Analyst Program offers a unique insight into a Wall Street firm. The Sales & Trading Program offers excellent networking opportunities. Summer Analysts are assigned a mentor to help them acclimate to the firm, and have daily exposure to senior management during information sessions and one-on-one meetings.  Summer Analysts also attend numerous events, including outings with the various product areas, to help them get to know the Morgan Stanley professionals.

Sales & Trading Summer Analyst Program Details:

The Sales & Trading Summer Analyst Program consists of classroom training, a desk placement, rotations, senior management speaker series, networking events, and a mid-summer review. Summer Analysts are placed in a specific role on a desk for the majority of the summer, allowing them to gain an in-depth understanding of the role that an Analyst can play within the division. To provide them with broad exposure to the diverse products and functions, Analysts also rotate to various desks within the Sales & Trading division.

Within the different business functions the following roles exist for Summer Analysts joining the program:

The Fixed Income Division offers a wide range of products and services to clients.  The division is organized by product group including Global Product, Interest Rate, Derivatives, Credit, Commodities and Research. The Summer Analyst Program within Fixed Income provides you with an opportunity to rotate one or two desks allowing each summer analyst to develop a sound understanding of a wide scope of products.  Within each desk, summer analysts will be assigned area project or daily work which you will work closely with traders, salespeople, and research and structuring.

The Consolidated Equity Division has six core markets in Japan in which we have a fully integrated equity sales and trading business, including global origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-related, and equity derivatives business. In addition, we have the capacity to trade in the remaining markets comprising the region. Our global distribution team is responsible for all client relationship management as well as all product distribution. Consolidated Equity Summer Interns will have a rotation program where they rotate to a new functional area every two weeks.

At the end of the summer, every exceptional Summer Analyst has the opportunity to receive a full-time offer. Each Summer Analyst receives a mid-summer and end-of-summer evaluation from both their manager and Human Resources. The structure of the Summer Program allows Summer Analysts to gain an in-depth understanding of the business and the role of an Analyst.

Requirements

You will be entering the final year of your undergraduate degree and have an outstanding academic record and a keen interest in the financial markets. You must possess native-level Japanese language skills.
