An overview of this program’s objectives and how you can benefit The Human Resources Analyst Program is designed to develop highly analytical human resources professionals. Within the HR Division, the Data Teams provide support and strategy for all of Morgan Stanley's businesses worldwide. A Data Analyst supports a specific business within the firm on a host of human resources issues, including headcount, compensation, data analysis, benchmarking pay practices in the market place, and conducting compensation and expense analyses. The Analyst Program in Human Resources Business & Data Analysts support a specific Division within the firm, and are responsible for developing analytics, metrics and reporting functionality on a wide range of human capital issues. They provide division management with the tools to measure and manage key metrics such as headcount, attrition, retention, and recruiting efficiencies. Analysts will help in benchmarking pay practices in the market place, and in conducting compensation and expense analysis. Reporting is also a key responsibility, and analysts will design reports on performance evaluations, external competitive data and recommendations, diversity, and the promotion process. As a new Analyst you will participate in an Analyst Training Program. The Program provides formal learning and networking opportunities during the first few weeks on the job, and throughout the Analyst's first year. The goal of the program is to develop your data analysis expertise and provide you with a broad understanding of the entire Human Resources organization at Morgan Stanley. Classroom training will supplement practical on-the-job experiences and is tailored to the Analyst's background and interests. Throughout the program, on-going feedback from managers will help Analysts develop and hone their skills. Additionally, each Analyst will be assigned a mentor who will help them navigate through the organization and provide guidance as they embark on their careers. Together, these experiences provide the analyst with a strong analytic foundation, which is an essential skill that can be applied to any other role at Morgan Stanley. Training will supplement practical on-the-job experience and will be tailored to the Analyst's background and interests. Developing Your Career What you can anticipate as you make progress and after completing the program After 18 months in your position, Analysts can explore opportunities as a specialist in a particular product or coverage area, or broaden their expertise by transferring into new functional areas. Requirements You are a rising senior with an interest in a career in Human Resources, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Desirable majors include Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, and Business Management. Selection Process Candidates are selected through a series of interviews conducted on-campus and on-site at Morgan Stanley. Candidates are evaluated based on their interest and knowledge of Human Resources as well as their leadership, analytical and communication skills.
