An overview of this program’s objectives and how you can benefit Morgan Stanley's ten-week Sales & Trading Summer Analyst classes are treated as a top priority because we know they will produce the future Full Time Analyst classes. Summer Analysts have the opportunity to develop and master the analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills they will need for consideration for our full time opportunities. The division's flat organizational structure and open trading floor allow Summer Analysts opportunities to collaborate with successful industry professionals in a fast paced and intense environment, requiring an aptitude for analyzing and interpreting often complex information in a timely manner. The Fixed Income Division offers a wide range of products and services to clients situated all across the globe. The division's sales and trading teams for commodities, credit, and interest rate and currency products are organized by geographical regions, allowing each Summer Analyst to develop a sound understanding of a wide scope of products. The Summer Analyst Program within Fixed Income provides participants with an opportunity to rotate across two desks. Within each desk, Summer Analysts will be assigned a product area where you will work closely with traders, salespeople, and research and capital markets professionals. The Institutional Equity Division has six core markets in Asia Pacific – Hong Kong/China, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, India and Singapore – in which we have a fully integrated equity sales and trading business, including global origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-related, and equity derivatives business. In addition, we have the capacity to trade in the remaining markets comprising the region. Our global distribution team is responsible for all client relationship management as well as all product distribution. The Summer Analyst Program within Institutional Equity provides summer analysts with an opportunity to be placed in a specific desk for the duration of the summer. Sales & Trading Summer Analyst Program Details: Our Intensive ten-week program is designed to provide a realistic view of our businesses by having Summer Analysts assume the functions of full-time Analysts. Summer Analysts will contribute to the coverage process as salespersons, sales traders, traders or product innovation specialists, will receive continuing on-the-job training throughout the summer, and will benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects. Requirements Summer Analysts are expected to complete their bachelors/masters degree by December 2010 & July 2011 with excellent academic results and possess a strong interest in the financial markets. Fluency in English and an Asian language is a definite plus.
