The Analyst Program in Private Wealth Management
How the program works and the day-to-day experience you can expect

The Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management Analyst Program is a competitive 36-month divisional rotational program which commences in early July, and consists of comprehensive, multi-disciplinary training designed to prepare analysts for a career in PWM.  After completion of the training program, PWM analysts are placed into one of two specific tracks and work closely with product and trading specialists from across the firm to gain a thorough understanding of the uses and applications of sophisticated financial tools and the full range of both internal and external financial products.

This formal and rigorous analyst program provides a transparent and consistent method for those new to the firm to learn about the ultra-high net worth market and PWM, while obtaining the skills necessary for career advancement.

Roles and responsibilities may vary slightly by track but typically include:

Business Development and Strategy and Sales:

  • Analysts support the generation and implementation of strategic initiatives and policies throughout the PWM organization in Asia.  Analysts may support either a client coverage team or Regional/National Management in the analysis, tracking and growth of business.  Analysts will also work closely with PWM senior sales professionals and senior management on a daily basis, playing an integral role in the development and implementation of creative solutions that help enhance the global presence and efficiency of the organization.  In addition, analysts gain exposure to a wide range of experiences across the firm through frequent interactions with Institutional Equities, Fixed Income, Global Capital Markets, Investment Management, and Investment Banking. Other tasks may include analysis of current client coverage, creation of customized client presentations and management presentations, and coordination of and involvement in various projects.

Products and Services:

  • Analysts work within the products and services areas of PWM to support client coverage teams.  Responsibilities include working with the management team that oversees a number of different investment strategies across equity and fixed income and fee-based products for PWM clients.

Developing Your Career
What you can anticipate as you make progress and after completing the program
