Your Opportunity as an Offcycle Intern in Investment Banking/Global Capital Markets

How the programme works and the day-to-day experience you can expect

The offcycle intern programmes are an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley and the Investment Banking Division by taking on the responsibilities and functions of full-time Investment Banking or Global Capital Markets Analysts. The programmes vary in length depending on business needs and candidate availability but typically last a duration of 3 - 9 months.

You will spend your internship assigned to a specific group in a specific region, building basic skills in financial analysis, accounting and valuation while working on a wide range of domestic and international transactions. You will receive continued on-the-job training and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects.

Developing Your Career
What you can expect as you progress through and complete the programme

Management takes a keen interest in your progress as an Intern, and you will be encouraged to take on responsibility quickly with a view to developing your experience. To help in this process, you will typically be assigned a "buddy" who will act as your confidant and provide you with day-to-day advice.

At the end of the internship, you will have gained first hand knowledge of the role of an Analyst in IBD/GCM. In addition, you will have had the opportunity to build a strong network amongst your peers and professionals within the business and have a strong understanding of the Morgan Stanley culture.

Requirements

You must be a high-calibre undergraduate or postgraduate student with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English and a keen interest in the financial markets. In addition, the ability to communicate in a second language will sometimes be necessary depending on whether or not you are applying to one of our regional offices or a team which requires a second language.

Selection Process

For selected applicants we typically conduct at least two rounds of interviews and a numerical reasoning test. You will interview with the group which you are applying to join.

How to Apply

Recruitment for offcycle internships is completed on a continuous basis and interested candidates should apply online via our website.
