Your Opportunity as an Analyst in Sales & Trading

An overview of this program's objectives and how you can benefit

Morgan Stanley's Sales & Trading Analyst classes are treated as a top priority because we know they will produce the future generation of leaders for the firm. The Analyst Program provides candidates with an opportunity to develop and master the analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills needed for a rewarding career within our Fixed Income and Institutional Equities divisions. The division's flat organizational structure and open trading floor allow Analysts opportunities to collaborate with successful industry professionals in a fast paced and intense environment,  requiring an aptitude for analyzing and interpreting often complex information in a timely manner.

The Analyst Programs in Sales & Trading
How the program works and the day-to-day experience you can expect

Morgan Stanley's Sales & Trading division has a two-year Analyst Program. While the program is for two years, many of our outstanding Analysts are asked to stay on to continue a full career at Morgan Stanley.

Jr. Associate program in Fixed Income division is a three-year program designed to introduce you to various aspects of Fixed Income businesses while providing firsthand desk experience and exposure through rotations.  It includes a few weeks Firmwide Training and three desk rotations in Tokyo.  At each desk, you will receive on the job training and will be given opportunities to learn various products and become involved in the day-to-day business activities.

Analyst program in Consolidated Equity division is a two-year program and would give you a platform of skills, knowledge and tools to begin making an immediate impact on the trading floor. Combining intensive training with practical and on-the-job coaching from experienced professionals, the program gives you a broad introduction to the equities markets and each of our product groups before selecting an area or product in which to specialize.

Launching Your Career
The initial training that you receive on starting the program

The Programs begin with a comprehensive training curriculum  that includes firmwide training with Analysts across the Institutional Securities Division. The curriculum features extensive market knowledge, product and technical financial product, bond math, credit modeling, and financial accounting, enhanced with a variety of product talks. The program will also provide professional development classes as well as licensing and registration. You will have networking opportunities with peers and colleagues as well as frequent interaction with senior managers through information sessions and other organized events.

In addition to classroom training, you receive on-the-job coaching and feedback throughout the program.

Developing Your Career
What you can anticipate as you make progress and after completing the program

Morgan Stanley is committed to developing our next generation of leaders, so when an Analyst joins the firm, he or she becomes part of the team with an important role. As a result, many of our outstanding Analysts are asked to stay on and continue their careers at Morgan Stanley.

We believe in mentoring programs to support career growth. Analysts are assigned a mentor to help ease their transition from academia to the corporate environment. Mentors can provide career guidance, serve as a sounding board, and connect Analysts to the broader Morgan Stanley network.
