An overview of this programme’s objectives and how you can benefit

The Spring Insight Programme is designed for first-year students of a three-year degree course, or second-year students of a four-year course who are considering a career in banking. The Programme gives you an opportunity to learn more about the investment banking industry and a chance to experience the unique culture of Morgan Stanley.

How the programme works and the day-to-day experience you can expect

The week-long Institutional Securities Spring Insight Programme will give you an overview of Investment Banking, Global Capital Markets (GCM), Private Wealth Management, Sales & Trading and Research. The Programme consists of a mix of lecture-based sessions, educational games, case studies as well as the opportunity to work shadow on a variety of desks.

Throughout the week, you will focus on developing the skills necessary for a career in Institutional Securities, honing your communication, presentation, teamwork, application-making and interview skills. In addition, there are numerous opportunities to meet and network with Morgan Stanley employees at all levels, across Institutional Securities. The programme will also provide broad exposure to the entire Securities business, enabling you to make a better-informed decision when applying for future internships.

While this is not a paid internship, your expenses will be covered.

Requirements

A minimum 320 UCAS points is required for students in the United Kingdom and an equivalent standard for students from outside the U.K.

You must be an undergraduate in your first year of a three-year degree course or your second year of a four-year course.

Selection Process

Following an initial telephone interview   and a numerical reasoning test, you may be invited to a half day assessment centre comprising of an interview and a practical assessment.

Programme Dates

Dates for our 2011 programme are yet to be set, however the programme usually takes place in either late March or early April of each year.
