Launching Your Career The Analyst Programme begins with two weeks on the Firmwide Institutional Securities Training Programme in London with colleagues from Sales & Trading and peers from other divisions. The training covers financial modeling and capital markets and enables Analysts to grasp a broad understanding of each business in the Institutional Securities group, deepen their capital markets knowledge, and network amongst their Analyst peers. Afterwards you will undertake the Sales & Trading specific training, which generally comprises:
In addition to the formal training, the Analyst programme includes the opportunity to hear from experienced professionals in Prime Brokerage, a structured mentor and buddy programme and organised social events. This will enable you to build a network of contacts throughout the division and the firm. Developing Your Career Prime Brokerage management takes a keen interest in your progress as an Analyst, and will look to you for fresh perspectives and new ideas. You will be encouraged to take on responsibility quickly with a view to developing your career. To help in this process, you will be assigned a mentor to ease your transition to the corporate environment, provide career guidance and day-to-day advice, and to connect you with the Morgan Stanley network. Additional training will enable you to enhance your product knowledge as well as develop your professional skills. The programme will provide you with in-depth exposure to the finance industry and help you make an informed choice about your future career. The Industrial Placement Programme in Prime Brokerage The Prime Brokerage Industrial Placement Programme will run for a year starting each July and is for undergraduates who are completing a four-year degree with a year out in industry as a requirement for their degree. The programme typically offers you the opportunity to work in a variety of product areas, providing a clear understanding of how the Prime Brokerage operates as a whole. Following an initial period of training and induction, you will be assigned to a team where you would typically work alongside experienced professionals at all levels.
